Boden for Optimus Point

Boden, a British clothing retailer selling primarily online and mail order catalogue, is looking to move its main UK distribution base to Optimus Point.

The move will take Boden from Wilson Bowden's historic Meridian Business Park – close to junction 21 of the M1 at Braunstone – to a 250,000 sq ft warehouse and 25,000 sq ft of offices at Wilson Bowden's new Logistics and Warehouse development, Optimus Point.

Boden recently announced it was shaking up its image as a catalogue company and opening shops across the UK and US. It has revamped its clothing range and launched a new 'limited edition' collection in a bid to attract more style-conscious customers.

Although headquartered in London, Leicester is its main distribution base with 500 full-time staff – 360 warehouse jobs and 133 office and customer service roles.

David Ward, Planning Director at Wilson Bowden, said:

"It is to be a state-of-the-art, bespoke warehouse and office complex that will help lead Boden's UK expansion plans."

"Boden have very high quality requirements, and this is a big corporate statement they are making – they also want to stay in the Blaby district."

"Coming to Optimus Point will "future proof" the business, allowing it to grow and stay in the area. It would have been a big loss if they had decided to go elsewhere."
