Wilson Bowden Developments granted the George Rennie Award

The Former Magistrates court (now Riverside Studios) has been granted the 2014 George Rennie Award. This was due to the care and detail devoted to the conservation, restoration and conversion of the landmark 1930's building.

The annual award is made by the Derby City Council's Conservation Area Committee in memory of the services of the former long standing Conservation Officer for the city, George Rennie.

Deputy Leader of the Council, Councillor Martin Rawson said:

"I'm delighted that not one but two Council renovation projects have been recognised in this year's George Rennie Awards, alongside Sadler Bridge Studios scooping the awards for best new building in a conservation area.

The careful conservation work carried out at the former Magistrates Court has brought a prominent listed building back into use, to generate jobs and meet the city's needs for managed office space."
